Schneekristall
Knitted applique for tablecloth. Materials: Crochet cotton #100, knitting needles #1, fine cloth. You will make 12 smaller pieces and assemble these into one piece. After accurate blocking, this will be sewn to a corner of the fabric. Make four sets to have one for each corner of the tablecloth. Thanks to Annagret again for her explication of the symbols, translation and explanation of the schematic.
Cast on 6 stitches and join in the round. Work according to chart B, repeating the chart 6 times per round. Knit all rounds which are not charted. After rd 60, bind off the stitches of 2 opposite edges, keeping the other stitches live on the needle.
Knit a second motif from chart B. Join both pieces at two sides (refer to the layout diagram for this), starting a triangular motif and working in rows back and forth (WS rows in purl) according to chart C as follows: Work chart C twice, across the stitches marked by the arrow at the top of chart B. In row 45, knit the remaining stitches of both halves together into one stitch (the chart symbol refers to both halves!), cut the yarn, pull through and weave in.
Join the opposite in the same way, then continue as before. To make the corners, graft 2 motifs side by side and work the corner (chart D), again working in rows and starting from the stitches under the arrow. Weave in ends and block accurately before stitching to the tablecloth.

Remember:
- Feel free to download and use the charts, print copies for your own use. However, you may not print them out and share them with others. Send folks to my website so they can download for themselves.
- I don't own the original pattern, but I do own my recharted version. So, please don't copy my charts and claim them as your own or publish them under your name. If you want to have your own charts, then find the original patterns and rechart them yourself!
- Do not sell copies of these charts. If I don't charge for my recharts, you certainly shouldn't charge for my recharts!
