Ovaler Blütentraum

This is very similar to Arthur/Anita except that the number of petals in the large flowers is different.

Size: 150x200cm. This can be changed by working fewer or more repeats in round 12 of chart C. The center, including the flowers, measures about 72x112cm. Material: 700-750g crochet cotton #10 (400m/100g), straight knitting needles size 2.5 or 3, circular needles 150 and 250cm long.

Instructions: The center is worked in rows (flat). Cast on 4 sts, knit 168 rows according to chart A. Work a slipstitch edge to facilitate picking up stitches later. Rounds 41 to 136 are worked the same as rounds 37 to 40. Work R168 using your (shorter) circular needle and start working in rounds as follows:
After the 2nd st of round 168 insert 1 yo. After the 4th st pick up the 84 selvedge stitches from the first long edge, inserting 1 yo each after the 1st to 39th, the 42nd, and the 45th to 83rd stitch ?, then repeat from ? to ? across the cast-on and along the second long edge. Now purl 4 rounds (336 sts), purl yarnovers through the back loop.

Thereafter work the flowers according to chart B. Note that round 1 starts at the 3rd stitch! Repeat the motif (24 sts) 14 times per round. Use the longer circular needle as required. From round 65, work the part between the bold lines 3 times.

After that, work the diamond border according to chart C, i.e. 70 repeats of 16 sts each per round. After rd 12, work rds 1-12 seven more times for a total of 96 rds. Finally work the lace border according to chart D, again with 70 repeats. After 24 rds, crochet off, gathering groups of stitches together as indicated in the last round of the chart and inserting 11 chain stitches in between them. Weave in ends, wash and block.

Thank you, for making sure the instructions are correct, Annagret!
