Kronenblume

This is a very large tablecloth, nearly 6 feet in diameter, or 1.95 meters. The instructions call for 800 g medium-weight raffia-colored crochet rayon and size 6/0 knitting needles. There are a lot of charts, most of them split into 2 or more sections. It might help to print out all the charts first, and line them up so you can clearly see which charts go together. I think it will take a brave person to knit this tablecloth.

Cast on 8 stitches and join into a round. Repeat the pattern 8 times per round. Knit the rounds not shown in the charts. Where there are double yarnovers, in the next round knit the first loop and purl the second loop of the yarnovers. From rounds 121 to 140, knit the stitches inside the heavy lines 5 times side by side in each repeat, and knit the sections before and after only once each. In rounds 141 to 156, the section bordered by heavy blue lines is knitted 4 times side by side, and in rounds 233 to 320 the section bordered by the green lines is knitted 2 times side by side, the sections outside the heavy line are also knitted only once each. Note that rounds 307 to 320 include a blue repeat (4times) inside a green repeat (2 times.)

In rounds 321 to 326, the pattern is worked 24 times in the round. In the last round use a crochet hook to bind off, joining groups of stitches (number indicated in last row on chart) with a single crochet stitch, and then chain 13 between groups.

Remember:

  • Feel free to download and use the charts, print copies for your own use. However, you may not print them out and share them with others. Send folks to my website so they can download for themselves.
  • I don't own the original pattern, but I do own my recharted version. So, please don't copy my charts and claim them as your own or publish them under your name. If you want to have your own charts, then find the original patterns and rechart them yourself!
  • Do not sell copies of these charts. If I don't charge for my recharts, you certainly shouldn't charge for my recharts!
