FdA 826
Many thanks to Anagret, who interpreted the instructions for me. Materials: 100g fine crochet cotton #50, 5 dpns and a circular needle 2mm, a matching fine crochet hook.
Instructions: Knit 8 individual squares according to chart A. Cast on 8 stitches, join into a round, and repeat the pattern 4 times per round. After round 84 put all stitches on hold. Work 7 more squares and then graft the squares together, two rows of squares, four squares in each row.
Place all remaining stitches that are on hold onto a circular needle. There should be two repeats of 84 stitches on each short side and 4 repeats of 84 stitches for each long side. It is really useful here to place a marker after each repeat, or at the very least, at each corner. Knit four rounds plain, then knit according to chart B. At each corner, knit the stitches inside the bold lines twice, which will form the corner. After round 34, crochet off, gathering 5 stitches in a single crochet and chain 10. Repeat until all stitches have been crocheted off. Block and starch as desired.
