Agave
Size: 190 cm diameter. Materials: 500g rayon crochet thread (“medium strength”), knitting needles size 2 and 2.5mm.
With the smaller needles, cast on 12 stitches, join into a round. Beginning with chart A, repeat the pattern 12 times per round. Knit the rounds not shown on the charts. Where there are double yarnovers, in the next round knit the first loop and purl the second loop. From round 73, change to the larger needles. From round 153, repeat the pattern 6 times per round. For rounds 161 to 208, work the pattern between the bold lines 5 times, then the part outside the bold lines once. In round 207 slip the last stitch of the 5th repeat over the last remaining stitch of the hexmesh background. At this point there should be 1290 stitches.
Startng with round 209, repeat the pattern 30 times per round. After round 264, use a crochet hook to crochet off the stitches. Gather groups of stitches, as indicated in the last round, into single crochet stitches, and chain 11 stitches between groups.
