Vobachs 23686 (Copritavolo Rotondo)

Update 6/22/2024: Well, my original effort at recharting this pattern was full of errors. A wonderful Niebling expert on Ravelry knitted the pattern using my charts, comparing them to the originally published charts in Vobachs. She sent me a long list of errors! I am so glad -- I just love receiving feedback like this. It took me a while but I have fixed all the errors (that I know of) and the new charts are shown below. If you knitted this pattern before this update, I apologize for the frustration you must have felt.

Diameter: 70 cm. The original pattern requires "4 balls of 'Ancora'" but no size is given, and size 2.5 knitting needles. No indication what that is in millimeters, though. So, the size of the tablecloth/doily will depend on the size of thread/yarn and needles that are used.

Cast on 12 stitches and join into a round. Repeat the pattern six times per round. From round 81 repeat the pattern 24 times per round. Note the multiple yarnovers in rounds 7, 47 and 210. In the following rounds (8, 48, 211) drop all the yarnovers and in the large loop that results, knit the number of increases shown. In the rounds not shown on the charts, knit the knits, purl the purls, knit twisted stitches through the back and knit the yarnovers. After the 235th round use a crochet hook to join 3 stitches in a single crochet and then chain 8 stitches. Repeat until the round is finished.

  • I don't own the original pattern, but I do own my recharted version. So, please don't copy my charts and claim them as your own or publish them under your name. If you want to have your own charts, then find the original patterns and rechart them yourself!
  • Do not sell copies of these charts. If I don't charge for my recharts, you certainly shouldn't charge for my recharts!
