Pamela
“Pamela” curtain to match Laburnum bedspread in Beyer Band 454. Size: 150cm wide and 200cm long. Materials: 900g medium weight sand colored crochet rayon and #2.5 knitting needles. Use the needles recommended on the ball band of your yarn and knit a swatch, one repeat of the pattern, to see if you like the fabric it produces. “Medium-weight crochet rayon” isn’t very specific and a swatch will help you get the best result.
The curtain begins at the bottom edge. Cast on a multiple of 94 stitches per repeat plus 8 stitches for the borders. For this specific pattern, as shown in Beyer 454, cast on 666 stitches (658 for 7 pattern repeats, and 8 for the 4 edge stitches on each side) and knit back and forth rows according to the chart. Slip the first stitch of every row, knit the following 3 stitches, then knit the pattern according to the chart, repeating the pattern seven times. Knit the last 4 stitches of every row. The 4 edge stitches on each side are not drawn on the chart. Purl the return rows. Repeat rows 59-126 until the desired length is reached. Then the stitches are cast off. You can change the width and length of the curtain as you like by working more or less pattern sets in width and height.
