Palmwedel 2

Cloth for a coffee table, size 49 X 105 cm. Materials: 25 g MEZ crochet thread "Floretta," knitting needles and circular needle size 2.5.

Cast on 8 stitches, join into a round and knit Chart A 4 times in the round. Knit the rounds not shown on the chart; in even rounds 6 to 20 knit the purl stitches. Where there are two adjacent yarnovers, knit the first loop and purl the second loop. After the 24th round, put all stitches on waste thread or spare needles. Make three more motifs from chart A, for a total of 4 flower motifs. Line up the four motifs in a row, and connect them, one after another, along 1 repeat of 29 stitches.

Then pick up all remaining stitches around the outside of the rectangle formed by the four motifs (290 stitches) on a circular needle. Begin the new round on the 1st seam over the last stitch of the first motif. Knit according to Chart B three times, knit chart C two times at the corner, and repeat until the entire round is complete. Then work the border with rounds 25 to 40 according to Chart D, for 1 half as follows: * knit the whole pattern set 3 times (over 174 stitches), then for the 2 corners 2 times alternately: 1 time the heavily bordered part and 1 time the whole pattern set (over 164 stitches). For the remaining half of the border, repeat from *. Use a crochet hook to do the decreases in the final round - use a single crochet to combine the number of stitches indicated and then chain 10 after each single crochet.
