Mohnblume
9/24/2023 - I originally recharted this pattern in the midst of Covid lockdown in 2020. Looking at it now, three years later, I can see it was a mess. Raveler DailyKnitter came to the rescue again and pointed out that I had completely omitted one chart. In revising the charts I also found another error that must have confused people quite a bit. So, this page is now updated and should be correct. If you downloaded this pattern prior to Sept. 24, 2023, download the new charts now and use them instead of the earlier charts.
Size: 51 cm or 1.2 m diameter, depending on the size of thread and needles used. Materials: 25 g glossy crochet thread No. 100 and size 1.5 mm needles, OR 150g "Floretta" crochet yarn and size 2.5 mm needles.
Instructions: Cast on 12 sts and join into a round. Repeat the pattern 6 times per round. Knit all intermediate rounds, except where there are double YOs. In that case, knit the first loop and purl the second loop. From Round 111, knit the outlined stitches 14 times in a row. From Round 129, knit the outlined stitches 27 times.
In round 136, decrease 24 stitches evenly throughout the round (624 stitches). In round 137, move the end-of-round marker, knit another 12 stitches, replace the EOR marker, so that the round beginning is now over the flowers. In the last round, decrease as indicated with a crochet hook, and chain 13 between the decreases. Join the last ch13 to the first decrease, cut the thread and tie off. Weave in the ends. Using slip stitch crochet, overstitch the outlined stitches on round 113.
Remember:
- Feel free to download and use the charts, print copies for your own use. However, you may not print them out and share them with others. Send folks to my website so they can download for themselves.
- I don't own the original pattern, but I do own my recharted version. So, please don't copy my charts and claim them as your own or publish them under your name. If you want to have your own charts, then find the original patterns and rechart them yourself!
- Do not sell copies of these charts. If I don't charge for my recharts, you certainly shouldn't charge for my recharts!
