Maiglöckchen (Small Center)

Herbert Niebling designed several very similar patterns called Maiglöckchen or other names. This one is a 38 cm. in diameter doily with a plain edge. This motif is also used as the center of other designs with more elaborate edges, or bigger pattern as used in a tablecloth.

This pattern calls for 35 g of silky crochet thread size 30 and size 2 knitting needles. Cast on 8 stitches and join into a round. Repeat the chart 8 times per round. Bind off with a crochet hook -- join 4 stitches together with a single crochet, then chain 7. Repeat until all stitches are bound off. Join the last ch7 to the first decrease.

Remember:

  • Feel free to download and use the charts, print copies for your own use. However, you may not print them out and share them with others. Send folks to my website so they can download for themselves.
  • I don't own the original pattern, but I do own my recharted version. So, please don't copy my charts and claim them as your own or publish them under your name. If you want to have your own charts, then find the original patterns and rechart them yourself!
  • Do not sell copies of these charts. If I don't charge for my recharts, you certainly shouldn't charge for my recharts!
