Loretta
A pretty large doily or small tablecloth that is 32 to 67 cm in diameter, depending on the size of needles and thread used. The pattern starts with a center of leaves that remind me strongly of chicken feet, which are surrounded by a very pretty border. You can see a photo of the doily here.
Instructions: Case on 8 stitches and join into a round. Repeat the pattern 8 times per round. Knit all intermediate rounds. Where there are double yarn overs, in the next round knit the first loop and purl the second loop. In round 78 increase the 3 yarn from round 77 into 15 stitches (the increase is shown in round 79, but do it in round 78 and knit the 15 stitches in round 79. Of course, if you forget and do the increases in round 79, it won't be a terrible thing.) NOTE: beginning with round 81, knit the chart all the way across as usual, and then knit the stitches between the heavy lines again, in reverse.
Bind off with a crochet hook as shown in round 89. Chain 12 stitches between the decreases.
Remember:
- Feel free to download and use the charts, print copies for your own use. However, if you want to share them with others, send folks to my website so they can download for themselves.
- I don't own the original pattern, but I do own my chart. So, please, do not sell copies of these charts. Let's keep it free.
