Henriette
You can see a photo of "Henriette" here. It is a large oval tablecloth. The tablecloth is1.4 m long, 1.05 m wide. The lace trim is 27 cm high. Material: 150 g of fine gold-colored crochet silk, steel knitting needles No. 5/0 and fabric of the same color. I think it would also be a beautiful border for a shawl.
Cast on 920 stitches and knit 4 rows. Join into a round. After a few rounds have been knitted, you can use the cast on tail to sew together the gap between ends of the first four rows. Begin following Chart A, repeating the chart 20 times in the round. Knit the rounds not shown on the chart, and where there are double yarnovers, on the next round knit the first loop and purl the second loop.
In rounds 9 - 26 and 47 - 74, *knit the part in front of the strong line once, then knit the part between the strong lines three times, and then knit the part after the strong line once. Repeat from * to the end of each round. From the 75th round on, knit the stitches between the strong lines twice per repeat.
After the 102nd round crochet off the stitches. Knit the first two stitches and then begin the decreases as shown. Decrease each set of stitches with a single crochet and chain 12 stitches between decreases. Use the tail from the cast on to stitch together the ends of the 1st four rows. Block as appropriate for the type of thread or yarn used. Pin the circle of lace onto a piece of fabric larger than the opening in the lace. Use doubled thread to stitch the lace to the fabric. On the underside, trim the fabric, roll the raw edge under, and stitch in place with tiny stitches.
Remember:
- Feel free to download and use the charts, print copies for your own use. However, you may not print them out and share them with others. Send folks to my website so they can download for themselves.
- I don't own the original pattern, but I do own my recharted version. So, please don't copy my charts and claim them as your own or publish them under your name. If you want to have your own charts, then find the original patterns and rechart them yourself!
- Do not sell copies of these charts. If I don't charge for my recharts, you certainly shouldn't charge for my recharts!
