Cast on 16 stitches and join into a round. Knit according to the chart. Repeat the pattern 8 times per round. Read the rounds from right to left. Mark the beginning of the round with a contrasting thread. Knit all unmarked rounds, and where there are 2 yarn overs next to each other, in the next round knit 1 stitch, purl 1 stitch. Empty boxes have no meaning. Bind off with a crochet hook. Decrease as many knit stitches together with 1 single crochet as indicated in the last round, in between crochet 12 chain stitches.
