This includes two charts, one for a larger (23 cm) octagon and one for a smaller (10 cm) square. The original pattern called for very fine thread and very fine needles, so if you use larger needles and thread or yarn, the octagon and square will be larger. In the original pattern instructions are given for knitting enough of these to put together to form the border of a tablecloth. Click on the name above to see a photo of the tablecloth, to understand how the motifs are put together. These can be put together in other ways, too, to form blankets or shawls. Also the octagon makes a very pretty doily. If anyone wants the original instructions they can be found in Beyer 330 or you can contact me and request them.

Remember:

  • Feel free to download and use the charts, print copies for your own use. However, you may not print them out and share them with others. Send folks to my website so they can download for themselves.
  • I don't own the original pattern, but I do own my recharted version. So, please don't copy my charts and claim them as your own or publish them under your name. If you want to have your own charts, then find the original patterns and rechart them yourself!
  • Do not sell copies of these charts. If I don't charge for my recharts, you certainly shouldn't charge for my recharts!
