Fleurs et Damiers
This is a pretty tablecloth, about 1.1 meter in diameter (43 inches). I don't know who the designer was, or where it was published. I have a cutting with the pattern in French. That's all I know, so of course I have not been able to find it in the Ravelry database. One of the Niebling knitters on Ravelry, deutschBirgit2024, did a test knit and very kindly has allowed me to share her photo on this page. It's really quite pretty. The pattern calls for size 4 cotton, size 3 knitting needles and size 2.5 crochet hook. I am not sure if the needle sizes are in millimeters.
Cast on 6 stitches and join into a round. Repeat the design six times per round. In round 119 decrease with a crochet hook. Decrease as many stitches as indicated with one single crochet, and chain 10 between the decreases.
