Dahlie

This is quite a project. The picture makes it look like a lacy doily, but actually this is a tablecloth with a fabric center. The original pattern calls for 65 g of white crochet thread size 100, size 2.0 knitting needles and white linen for the center. The size will depend on the size of thread or yarn and needles that you use. If you use the recommended fine thread, the tablecloth is 100 cm in diameter.

Cast on 824 (!) stitches and join into a round. Knit the lace according to the chart, repeating it 8 times per round. Knit the even rounds. Where there is a double YO, on the following round knit the first loop and purl the second loop. From the 3rd round on, repeat the stitches inside the heavy turquoise border three times. After the 124th round bind off loosely. Starch the lace and block it firmly. Pin it to the linen center and stitch down with tiny stitches. Turn over the fabric and trim to a 1 cm. seam allowance. Roll the seam allowance and stitch in place to hide the raw edge.

The chart is large, so I divided it into 9 sections. It's probably easiest to print out all the charts, trim them and tape them together. Knit the A sections first (right, center, left). Then knit the B sections. Finish with the C sections.

Remember:

  • Feel free to download and use the charts, print copies for your own use. However, you may not print them out and share them with others. Send folks to my website so they can download for themselves.
  • I don't own the original pattern, but I do own my recharted version. So, please don't copy my charts and claim them as your own or publish them under your name. If you want to have your own charts, then find the original patterns and rechart them yourself!
  • Do not sell copies of these charts. If I don't charge for my recharts, you certainly shouldn't charge for my recharts!
