Clematis Lampenschirm

Lampshade with clematis flowers, 24 cm. high. Material: 100 g filet crochet thread size 20, size 2 knitting needles, size 2.5 circular knitting needle, lampshade frame (suggested: Maka Art 403/37, 28 cm high, 37 cm [diameter? circumference?]. Also 0.40 meter rust colored lining material to cover the frame.

Knit six motifs from Chart A as follows: Cast on 10 stitches and join into a round. Knit two rounds. Follow the chart from round 3. Repeat the pattern 5 times per round. In the 4th round increase the 3 yarnovers to 10 stitches, alternating knit and purl stitches. After the 40th round place all stitches on stitch holders or on waste yarn. Repeat until you have six motifs. Block each motif before joining them together.

Join the 6 flower motifs into a wreath, grafting them together so that one repeat faces in toward the center, one repeat is attached to the next flower, two repeats face outward, and the final repeat is grafted to another flower. See the schematic chart.

Put the 222 stitches from the center of the wreath onto a circular needle. Knit as follows to form the upper part of the lampshade:

  1. 1st round: * Slip 1 st, knit 2 sts, pull the slipped st over the 2 knit sts, 1 yarn over *. Repeat 74 times per round.
  2. 2nd round: knit all stitches.
  3. 3rd round: Knit 1 stitch then knit as 1st round from * to * 73 times, slip 1 stitch, knit 1 stitch, pull the slipped stitch over the 1st and last knit stitch of the round, 1 yarn over
  4. knit all stitches.
  5. Knit 1st-4th round 12 times, do not add the yarn over in the last round.
  6. In the 49th round bind off the remaining 148 stitches.

Put all the remaining live stitches of the lower edge of the lamp shade onto a circular needle (444 stitches). Bind off with a crochet hook, using a double crochet to combine stitches as shown and chain 8 stitches between the double crochets. Block again and drape the lace over the cloth-covered frame.

Clematis Blütendecke

Tablecloth, approximately 130 cm in diameter. It consists of two rings of separately knitted flowers, sewn into a small and a large ring or wreath. Then work toward the center inside the small circle, then from the outer edge of the small ring to the larger ring of flowers.

Material: 330 g filet crochet yarn size 20, 1 size 2 circular needle, size 2 and size 1.5 double-pointed knitting needles, size 1.5 crochet hook.

Method: This tablecloth is worked in several parts: first knit 32 individual floral motifs according to chart A. Graft 8 in a small ring using size 2 dpns, and graft 24 into a larger circle using size 1.5 dpns. which are then sewn together 8 (with needles no. 2) and 24 (with needles no. 1.5) into 2 wreaths. Pick up stitches in the center of the small wreath and knit the center according to chart B. Pick up stitches around the outside of the small wreath and knit according to chart C to connect the two rings.

To make the individual flowers, cast on 10 stitches, join into a round. Knit 2 rounds and then begin knitting according to chart A on the 3rd round. In the 4th round, increase the three yarnovers to 10 stitches. Repeat the pattern 5 times per round. After the 40th round, put all stitches on stitch holders or waste yarn. Block the individual flowers and sew 8 of them together to form a wreath. The stitches from one repeat face the center, on each side stitches of the adjacent repeats are grafted to the next flowers, and the remaining stitches of two repeats will face the outer edge. See the schematic for the tablecloth.

Pick up 296 stitches around the center and knit toward the center according to chart B, repeating the pattern 8 times per round. After the 84th round 8 stitches remain. Cut the yarn, thread it through the remaining stitches and pull tightly together.

Pick up the stitches around the outside of the 8 floral motifs (592 stitches.) Knit according to chart C. Through round 34 repeat the pattern 8 times per round. In rounds 35 to 64 repeat the pattern 24 times per round. Knit two rounds. Knit the next 24 floral motifs according to knitting scheme A, this time with needles size 1.5. After the 40th use a crochet hook to bind off the stitches on two sides of each motif, as shown in chart A round 41. Chain 8 stitches between decreases. Leave the stitches of the remaining 3 repeats of each motif on stitch holders or waste yarn. Join the 24 motifs into a wreath, with the finished repeats outward and a single repeat of each motif facing toward the center. Graft the wreath to the tablecloth, stitch by stitch. Dampen or starch lightly and block.
