Knit two motifs (triangles) following chart A. For each motif, cast on 6 sts, distribute on 3 needles, join in a round, and repeat the chart 3 times per round. Knit all the rounds not shown on the chart, and where there are 2 YOs together, on the following round knit the first loop and purl the second loop. After the 44th round, bind off with a crochet hook as follows: Decrease 4 stitches with one single crochet, and then chain 9 between the decreases. Above the corners, chain 13 instead of 9.

Crochet the two motifs together as follows: From the corner, chain 4, and then single crochet into the center of the first loop of the other motif. Chain 4 again, and then single crochet into the center of the first loop in the first motif. Keep zig-zagging back and forth, connecting the loops, until the two motifs are connected along one side.

Pick up 432 stitches around the outside of the oval. (Single-crochet into the loops to form the stitches.) Follow the border chart, repeating the design 72 times per round. Bind off with a crochet hook as follows: Decrease 3 with one SC, chain 9, decrease 5 with one SC, chain 9. Repeat around the oval, join the last chain 9 to the first decrease. Crochet around the outside of the oval, alternating chain 11 with 1 sc into a loop.

Remember:

  • Feel free to download and use the charts, print copies for your own use. However, you may not print them out and share them with others. Send folks to my website so they can download for themselves.
  • I don't own the original pattern, but I do own my recharted version. So, please don't copy my charts and claim them as your own or publish them under your name. If you want to have your own charts, then find the original patterns and rechart them yourself!
  • Do not sell copies of these charts. If I don't charge for my recharts, you certainly shouldn't charge for my recharts!
